About Bethesda United Methodist

Faith. Passion. Community. Worship. These are the cornerstones behind Bethesda United Methodist Church, and we approach each day with these in mind. Thought to be the Oldest Church in Southern St. Mary's County.  Bethesda United Methodist was erected on the sight after the original structure burned during the Civil War.  This structure was replaced in 1911. In 1969 the Baltimore Washington Conference changed the name from Methodist Episcopal to United Methodist Church, as it is now known.
